Sorry about the earlier blog misfire!
It's that time of year again when we are held prisoner by our leaves. They have to be vacuumed up before they get too wet or two thick but it can only be done if they are dry enough. This fall has not been a very dry one so leaf vacuuming has been a chore for Bob to find the time when the moon and stars are aligned and he can get them vacuumed up.
Reagan is unhappy with her sleeping arrangements at home. It seems she does not like her crib any longer. No warning to allow her parents to put Plan B into action. We were afraid she'd be the same when she visited here so I put a backup plan into action. I bought an inflatable toddler bed, as well as being a bed at our house, maybe the kids can use it when they travel since Reagan is quite the little globe trotter.
I thought I'd top it off with a bed tent. To warm her up about the tent I brought it downstairs for her to play in.
Before she discovered the awesomeness of her tent she enjoyed piling food on Grampa while he "played" with her. Basically once I brought the tent downstairs, she dragged her favorite Fisher-Price toys into it and all us adults sat around and stupidly stared at a little toy tent since Reagan didn't come out until it was time to go to Costco.
So while Carissa and Chris were at IKEA pulling together Plan B, we had Reagan with us. It's easier to take her to Costco for a mini-trip with us than it was for the kids to take her to IKEA on a maxi trip. Reagan enjoyed sampling her way through Costco and literally latched onto a full Dixie cup of blueberry smoothie mix and would not stop drinking it. We finally had to pull over while she finished it. She didn't even come up for air until it was all gone.
Done. I was so terrified she'd get blueberry on her shirt which had already been earmarked for school picture day. Oh the stress!
Then off to Fred Meyer so she could serenade the pre-Hawks shoppers with her school songs.
No shopping trip with The G's is complete without a little something or other so she picked out a sheet of stickers. She is so very good in a store and never asks or begs. We'll break her of that soon. When we got home, she pleaded with us not to take a nap. That must be her routine at home, and should have been her routine here but...
Once in the house she knew she was skirting a nap so she tried to keep us busy by asking for all her toys and keeping us running. She was hoping we'd forget about her nap. Playing in the Costco box taking a "bath" in her vintage Tupperware and food.
She talked Grampa into taking her out to "her playground" a.k.a. backyard so she could get her lawn mower refueled and out to the yard.
Mowing leaves out to the big tree and back in the watery fall sunlight.
A trip back to the house and a different conveyance mode takes her jacket for a ride out to the big tree and back.
Finally, it was time for a nap. We put her in the crib, piled the tent on top, she demanded the window and door or her tent closed, and it was "lights out" for Reagan.
According to my peek through the tent window she went right to sleep in her little spoiled girl environment.
Speaking of nothing that would make a good segue into the next topic EILEEN HAD HER BABY! Little, very little Ian joined the family at just 4lb, 15oz. Everyone is doing fine and although Ian is little, he is very healthy. Takes after his mother, I'm guessing. Congratulations to the Burns-Caparoso family.
How does aspirin know where to go when you take it? How does it know you have a headache or backache and that it's needed in one of those places? How does Amazon get the Jimmy Buffet CD we ordered two months ago and the heat sheath for the Jaguar Bob ordered two days ago into the same box to be delivered at the same time? How do those things do it??? Ain't technology and aspirin grand?
This just in. Chris and Carissa got Reagan's bed set up and tonight will be her first night. Wish her (and Mom and Dad) luck!
Happy Trick or Treating and have a good week!
