This week we had a SkillsUSA competition at our shop. "SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student excel. We provide educational programs, events and competitions that support career and technical education (CTE) in the nation’s classrooms." These are some of the competition stations we had set up.
We had prizes ready for the first 3 place winners.
Due to attrition and laziness, we had quite a few less competitors than we had registered, but the remaining competitors were hardworking students that some future employer will be lucky to have.
Today we met Kyanne for lunch then went to the Monster Jam because Reagan loves herself some trucks and cars. It was extremely loud but Reagan did really well with her sound muffs on. I only had ear plugs and it was still waaay too loud. Here a tractor comes and uprights an inverted Monster truck. No only were there lots of cool trucks, there were plenty of tractors, Bobcats, and other construction equipment for Reagan to watch.
"El Toro Loco" was leaping through the air like 10 Lords a leaping in the 12 Days of Christmas song. By the end of the song there were parts of El Toro Loco all over the field. A horn here, a hood there, as he limped out the door.
Reagan was fascinated watching the trucks make noise, flip over, and generate flying parts all over.
Reagan was having a great day.
And great days require a nap sometimes even if is noisy beyond comprehension.

While we were taking the Tacoma Link and walking to lunch before Monster Jam, I let Reagan take some photos with my phone. What does a 4 3/4 year old take photos of you say? EVERYTHING! If you want to see what she can take pictures of in 5 minutes, check out this link:
When we got home, Bob was back to the garage to work on the Scamp.
Bob got the kitchen cupboards painted and they look great. We still want to do something with the fridge to help it to blend it a bit. I have the curtains finished, so the fun stuff is done. Now it's just the boring stuff and lots work left to do.
We also took the orange Scamp logo off the side
so I can recut a new one in black with my Silhouette. That will not only update the trailer, but look much better with the black Outback.
Reagan had a busy week and sharing a Costco cart with a nice soft package of Charmin was just too tempting for her to resist a quick nap.
Her quick nap gave Reagan the energy to get her room clean for the rest of the week.
