If you don't want to see picture after picture of Reagan, stop reading right now! But since the target audience is the grandparents and family, I'm gonna pack it with Reagans.
Friday I didn't have school so I went to a different type of school: Walrus school at Pt. Defiance Zoo with Carissa, Eileen, and Co. After a session in the educational room, we went for a face-to-face with the new walrus' that have replaced old E.T. who has been a fixture at the zoo for many, many, years and recently passed on. It's weird to think that Eleanor and Reagan's children may be visiting these walrus just like both generations saw E.T.
Eileen and Ian watch for the walrus.
Reagan and Carissa getting to see a walrus up close...
...then really up close.
Carissa, Reagan, Ronan, Eleanor, Eileen, and Ian pose with the newly dedicated E.T. statue. Good luck to get 4 children to all point the same direction at the same time.
Reagan, Ronan and Eileen with some random gorilla statue at the zoo.
A peacock gives the once-over while watching us load our stuff and head for home. He was obviously scouting for snacks which he figured out he was not going to get so he moved his mooching on to the next stroller loader in line.
A hard day at the zoo resulted Reagan reading in her bed while a very tired grampa (that didn't even go to the zoo) grabbed a nap crib-side.
Carissa and Reagan and I went to the mall to exercise the kid and see what there was to see. Reagan wanted to pose the same as the kid in the picture. Why? No clue.
This girl has some real shopping potential. She's got her new dresses over her arm and she's just strutting the aisles of Old Navy like she owns them. You can just hear the "Pretty Woman" music playing!
Big mirrors mean goofy faces...
and mirror dancing...
Later that evening we went to "Rebbin Robin" for my birthday. I gave Reagan the camera so she could take herself some selfies. She is looks so Chelsea-like in these photos.
It's hard to believe she looks exactly like Chelsea when she was a youngin'. This isn't a very good pic of Chelsea, but this space just begged for a photo of Chelsea.
Richard enjoying my Blue Moon beer shake.
Kyanne and Ryan being Kyanne and Ryan. We had a great time and good service this year as opposed to last year's great time and really *crappy* service.
The morning of my birthday dawns and while making my coffee, I'm greeted by this hungry face and his bowl. "Geeze, stop with the photos, I'd talk to you if I could but I can't. The bowl speaks for me. Take a hint, Lady!"
Destination Birthday: Carpenito's Pumpkin Patch. We got there early in the morning while the wheelbarrow roundup was in progress. There were literally hundreds of wheelbarrows both on the ground and in the trucks and within a couple of hours you wouldn't be able to find an empty wheelbarrow at any price.
Carpenito has a very complicated and impressive corn maze. It was meant to entertain the maze-wanderer for hours.
When you do the maze with a pre-schooler who is making all the navigational decisions you don't get to see much of the maze. In fact, the top loop happened only once. We went around that first loop many, Many, MANY times. It all looks the same anyway and she had a really fun time so it really doesn't matter.
Walking in the morning mist of the corn maze...
...eating her freshly roasted corn.
But, following the typical pre-school timeline, not for long.
Second trip into the corn maze and caramel corn is on the menu this time. I taught her to double-fist the caramel corn so I didn't have to keep stopping and handing the bag down or we were gonna die 8 feet from the exit waiting for her to gently take one.kernel.of. popcorn.at.a.time.
Nipping into the fresh hot corn while sitting on a pile of pumpkins. Let me tell you, this kid knows how to make short work of a long ear of corn!
While other kids are posing with pumpkins and making memories, my kid is totally infatuated with the crates and crates of shaved ice, some of them having water or pop in them prompting a confident bottle grab and stroll before we busted her for shoplifting.
As if the corn maze weren't enough, Reagan got to do a really cool straw maze...
...rope a "steer"...and a ton of other activities. She loved roping the cow!
Since we had, literally, been there for hours, it was time to find that special pumpkin and get Grama and Grampa home for a nap. She carefully picked out this little white pumpkin from one of several huge piles of exact clones.
How about this one?
One of these?
Found it! After looking at hundreds of pumpkins, what was it about this one that released us from our personal pumpkin-hunting hell?
Although the place was empty when we arrived, it was certainly hopping a few hours later. You can see the corral of loaded wheelbarrows waiting for proof of purchase and release to the wilds of the parking lot.
Snuggling with the perfect pumpkin.
Step aside, precious cargo coming through!
Mission accomplished!
But wait! Although Grama and Grampa are double-dog tired, Reagan was up and ready for Round 2 painting rocks after her nap.

Oh what fun it is to be grandparents! Looks like you had many, many fun filled exhausting days. Happy belated birthday, now we are the same age again!
