Chapter 280

Our area is really getting Seahawks fever. Even Petco is showing a bit of Seahawks Pride in one of their fish tanks.

While I was in Oklahoma, Dad gave me the run of his shop while he was in the hospital. Although it was creepy going through someone's things, I knew Dad wanted Bob to have anything he could use from his shop. Since Bob couldn't shop for himself, I felt responsible to do a thorough search job so I rolled up my sleeves and started digging while taking pictures to send to Bob. I'd take a picture and text it to Bob and he'd let me know what he wanted. For whatever reason, he wanted everything that measured. As you can see that was quite a bit of stuff.

Bob was excited to see the micrometers and pop gauges. 

Look at these shelves full of good stuff to look through. Fortunately Dad had them clearly labeled and that made it easy to sort through only the boxes of interest.

Meanwhile back at home, Bob was busy bottling the beer he brewed up a few weeks ago. First he had to put the bottles in the dishwasher for sterilization. Then he uses the dishwasher door for a filling station since spillage is easy to clean up. That's the exact reason I used the dishwasher door for the girls to pour their drinks and "help" with messy cooking. It was an easy height for them to pour at and spills were super easy to clean up. Just close the dishwasher door.

The finished product ready to store for a couple of weeks while it generates carbonation. No, the "A" caps don't mean anything, just cheaper than plain new ones.

Remember the cute little car I got Reagan last week? The one she hit a moose with like a true Mainer?  

The hood comes off to reveal a snack tray. Perfect for a quick bite of rice puffs before her nap. 

Speaking of convertible toys, a couple of months ago Aunt JoAnn brought a hippo toy that Payton and Carter had outgrown. Reagan loves to sit on the hippo.

For it's second act, the seat flips up for Reagan to push the hippo around. Reagan was able to pull herself up on the handle of the hippo. No walking yet, but definitely "taking steps" in the right direction.

Today was so beautiful. The sky was clear and the mountain was out. Carissa, Reagan, and I went to Auburn's little environmental bird sanctuary park to walk the boardwalk. The enviro park was arranged to mitigate the land used by Emerald Downs and ensure migrating birds had a rest stop on their way to wherever it is that birds go. It's hard to find peace and solitude with the traffic on Highway 167 humming in the background and I only saw ONE bird! Some bird sanctuary that is.

Ah to have the uncomplicated life of a pampered cat where you can sleep with your head on upside down any time you want. Surprisingly, he's well aware of what's going on and will spring to life and growl when someone comes to the door...

...while the German Shepard "guard" dog sleeps on uncomprehending of potential breaches of his fortress.  

Carissa and Reagan have a deep, meaningful conversation before her snack time.

Bob picked out this adorable dinosaur outfit when we were at a shop at the beach. It reminded him so much of Carissa in her dinosaur Halloween costume I made one year. Bob could just picture the little tail swinging back and forth as Reagan crawled around in it. Turns out it was better than he had pictured. All we need to do is teach her how to roar like a dino.

Reagan played the part of adored first granddaughter to a tea. She knows her part and plays it well.

The front of the dino costume. I'm sure, in it's day, it had a cute little dino hat to go with it. I'm also equally as sure that she wouldn't wear it if we had it.

As long as we are going back in time, here's one for Kyanne. Kyanne used to used to watch a baby from her Jolly Jumper in front of this very same mirror. My how time flies!

Bear is outside taking a few quiet moments to himself while Reagan waits for her playmate to come back inside.
