This weekend was the twilight of my summer before school starts so we had to get a whole summer's worth of activities in on one weekend.

We started by going to a friend's annual driveway bbq...one of the highlights of our summer. While everyone sat around after our terrific bbq meal, Bob entertained us by witching or dowsing for Fred's waterline that he hasn't been able locate in his front yard. Bob bent two metal coat hangers and amazed everyone with his witching skills and located Fred's waterline in about 10 seconds. Now if someone would only pay for this valuable skill!

Here is Mount Rainier on the way to Fred's bbq.

The next day we headed to Bremerton for Uncle Bob's 80th birthday bbq. Thankfully I love bbq. Here's Uncle Bob holding court with the family at his party. Happy birthday to a really sweet, crazy guy!

Uncle Bob gets in touch with his "inner child".

Monday we were off to Lake Nawahtzel to Casa Casebolt. While sitting on the deck we spotted a tent caterpillar nest in the tree. So the Three Stooges head out with an inadequate ladder and fresh-out-of-the-box trimmer saw to show the world how removing tent caterpillars is done.

Note Bob in the "supervisory" position while the brave civil servant fireman sacrifices himself. Richard holds the ladder steady. He's pretty brave considering Scott may be his future father-in-law!

No good can come from a scene like the one below. Just exactly why is the guy on the ground in charge of the pole saw while the guy closest to the branch watches???

One branch down. By burning them one at a time, JoAnn gets a chance to man the lighter fluid. Oh, I'm sure nobody at work tomorrow will notice her eyebrows are now drawn on like an old lady's.

Here comes branch #2. Everyone run for cover!

A tight shot of Richard and Scott each performing their invaluable duties of eradicating innocent little tent caterpillars.

Richard was so amazed at all the caterpillar poop in their furry little caterpillar tent.

This time Richard swooped in and grabbed the lighter fluid to ignite the innocent little community of tent caterpillars.

Richard and Chelsea after a fun day at Casa Casebolt.

Richard and Chelsea, minus Chelsea's "Horribly hairy legs".
And a post-script. One morning I got up and actually looked outside instead of shuffling around with my Kool-Aid and checking my email. What a beautiful morning. I love the colors and the perfect crescent moon.

Have a good week everyone!

P.S. Good luck to Chelsea on her very first year of teaching.
