Chapter 327

Today is our Thanksgiving brunch at Kyanne's. By having brunch at Kyanne's that allows them to be able to have Thanksgiving dinner with Ryan's family. Dad volunteered to bring bacon to breakfast so we were up early to have time to pre-BBQ the bacon and start cutting the fruit for my contribution.  Check out the awesome Real Leaf pattern on his lined winter jeans. I'm sure these won't go unnoticed by JoAnn.

After the bacon was BBQ'd and the fruit cut up for the fruit plate put Nitro's Thanksgiving scarf on and  loaded Nitro into the car to go to Kyanne's. While we are there Nitro just stays in the car in his kitty sack and doesn't really seem to miss us at all.

This a really cute picture of Reagan and Sally.

But this is what is going on behind the scenes.

There was some seeerious greyhound mauling going on.

Although Sally is being very patient, you can see that she has a look of long-suffering tolerance on her face.

After breakfast we rejoined Nitro and headed down to the beach. Nitro always sits in my lap because he likes to see what's going on while we drive. He not much of a sleeper in the car.
To free up my lap for other projects I got Nitro a little kitty seat so he can ride up high and finally GET OFF MY LAP.  He did pretty well with it facing first the wrong way,

...then the right way to see out the window...

...then he got comfortable but didn't want to look like it so wore a perpetually annoyed look while lounging and looking at traffic.

It was a beautiful day when we arrived at the cabin so we enjoyed ourselves a nice sunset walk on the beach. Then the sun went down and it got cold. Fast. So we headed for the warmth of our little cabin.

Too late. The prime fireplace real estate is already taken. Nitro's black fur gets so hot he uncomfortable to touch after he's been baking for a while. I keep expecting that little plastic turkey popper come out of his shoulder any time.

Since the evenings at the cabin are pretty quiet, Bob got his latch-hook rug out and I worked on a project I was doing. Between the two of us, we pretty much messed that tiny cabin up good.

And just exactly because the fireplace gets too hot, Bob made a corral for it so if Reagan every comes down she'll be safely away from any burn hazard. Reagan and her parents wanted to come down this weekend but schedules and germs got in the way.

We did our Black Friday shopping at the couple of places there is go in Astoria. First we hit JoAnn Fabrics where I got an additional 25% off the sale price of my crafting supplies then shortly after dawn we were at Home Depot buying...nothing.

Today we went to Seaside since it's so close to us. We walked around a while and took in the air and sights such as the beach,

the beautiful river through town that looks kind of Europe-y,

aaand a Sasquatch riding a 3-wheeled bike through town.

After another fun-filled evening of crafting, we left the beautiful sunny beach and headed home to frozen fog. After feeling kind of Cat Whisper-y by getting Nitro to ride in his kitty seat, he would have none of it on the way home. He staked out my lap and he wasn't about to move.

Reagan waiting patiently for Dad to finish his errands.

No, that's not Reagan, but Chelsea. It's funny how many of us Reagan looks like.

Reagan sitting on her favorite chair while Dad reads to her.

Reagan being Reagan. I can't believe her mother lets her have balls in the house!
