Chapter 33: Just Chapter 33

We had a wonderful Halloween at the cabin. After Roo's disappointed tears over having to work ANOTHER Saturday for that mean man at Watson, a new schdule was worked out and the weekend salvaged.

I have to hurry and post before Roo posts all the good stuff first.

We started Saturday with a snack and a walk on the beach. Bear is contemplating his shadow in this picture.

After out walk on the beach, we had the traditional Halloween feast of "Spidey-dogs", mac 'n cheese served from a pumpkin, and "monster blood" soup. After dinner we were joined by a guest that pretty much ruined our hopes of using the firepit that evening. No, your eyes are not deceiving you, it is a deer using our firepit area on own front lawn as an outhouse!

Then we went to the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center a few minutes from the cabin. We didn't go in because it cost money an we are cheapskates, but we did grab a free Kodak moment of the Columbia Bar and jetty out front. This is It is located between the Cape Disappointment and North Head lighthouses. You can see how rough the Pacific Ocean waters are compared to the Columbia River waters.

As you can see, Bear is really interested in what the Pacific Ocean side of the Bar is doing.

This is a picture from the ocean end of the jetty. Look how rough it is on the Pacific side--as you can most likely see, I'm reeeeally fascinated by this.

See! I captured another unsuspecting tourist in my giant skillet!

And for Bob's Project-de-Jour, he finished the electrical, wall, and flooring around our "new" pellet stove before the kids arrived Saturday afternoon. JoAnn, notice your hand-me-down lighthouse in it's new place of honor?
