Saturday morning we packed up our roofing tools and the granddog, Bear, and headed for the cabin. We wanted to get the roof on the garage before the winter weather set in.
So as soon as we arrived, Bob started working on the roof and Bear and I were on ground crew. You can see how helpful Bear was as he layed with is tail across each piece of roofing I wanted cut.
Bear knew where he was and sulked all day Saturday until he got a trip to the beach. He did not realize the rules stated "Roof first, Bear to the beach second."
After a full day's work on the garage, we got the new roof on. Yay! Bring on the winter storms, we're ready for ya.
All done! Now all we need is a new window and siding...
Then it was off to the beach so the sand monster can dig down to dogs on other continents. His new game was to dig a hole, drop his ball in, dig it back out and repeat. Afterwards, Bob used the ball launcher and gave Bear a good run.
The house across the street from us is for sale and it's a real curiousity to me since the real estate flyer showed pictures of the interior that looked like a walk back in time. Sunday before we left, the neighbor from across the street came over and we started talking. He took us on a tour of the house and it was amazingly untouched by the passing years. I've included pictures of the house from the real estate flyer so you can see. It's so cool that's it's frozen in time, but it needs a LOT of work.

oh sooo tasty. (you can guess the accent)
