Chapter 316

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BOBBIE!

So our administrators, in all their wisdom, decided it would be a good idea to have an outdoor assembly on Day 3 of school. This is after the assembly we'd had the day before on Day 2 in the gym.

The kids and new teachers were still trying to make the new school year work while the administrators seem to be doing just the opposite. We had four assemblies on the first four days of school and a different schedule for each day. Our shared students were showing up for class from their home schools and finding they had already missed their class due to our compressed schedules, or were showing up in the middle of the wrong classes since their school didn't have the same schedule changes. Our poor new teacher, Kurt, was going crazy trying to just teach anybody anything anytime he could get them. Our outdoor assembly was the Marines with their half-pipe trucks to demonstrate trick bike, blade, and board riding. Needless to say, the kids were wired when them came back into the classrooms. 

After the classes had taken a tour of the shop with Kurt, I found this. I'm pretty sure who did it, but can't prove it. Apparently this tag is all over Riverside High School which fits in perfectly with my theory of who done it. This also help Riverside out since it reduces the pool of suspects from hundreds to the 9 that travel to our school. Stay tuned. 

Nitro hopped up on the sink and asked for me to turn the faucet on so he could get his drink. When I got there he was looking into the sink kind of funny. 

He had found another sign fall is coming. The spiders are heading in for a warm place to live and maybe even a warm meal. Nitro made quick work of this guy and felt pretty accomplished to have hunted his own meal.  Since he's housebound and doesn't get to hunt very often he was happy to do it for me.

While we are trying not to feed the livestock that is appearing inside the house, Bob is busy feeding the livestock that is quickly spreading the word that this is the hot spot in town for dining. We can't even keep this buffet full of the 3 different items on the menu.

I got this fortune cookie in my lunch the other day. Since Mary Lou is my hiking buddy, I'm waiting for her to get back from Denver so we can fulfill my fortune.

We were invited to go to the Point Defiance Zoo with the kids so they can get even more mileage out of their Zoo Passes but we had a company picnic to go to. Isn't this a great picture of Reagan "processing" the bird. You can almost see her little green loading bar as her brain fills with information.

While Reagan is loading her mind with useful information, we were at Emerald Downs at the Orion Company party. Orion provided a great catered meal, drink tickets, $20 cash for seed money, and we won a $50 gift card in a drawing. Although in the photo below, you see my horse in it's customary position of clean up at the rear of the pack, we still managed to keep the $20 seed money and build it by $3 making it a total of $23 profit.

Carissa is awesome about planning activities for her on days they are home. Here Reagan uses a surgical sponge to play with some medium, I'm guessing shaving cream?
