Chapter 102: At Last!

After three years, the end of the window/siding project was in our sights. You can see where we ended last year.

Nitro loves watching the goings-on at the cabin. Here he watches Bob figure out what we are up against during this project. Nothing is built the same way twice, nothing is square, nothing is as expected once it is opened up.

Bob shreds the window Nitro was not happy being locked away from the action.

The new window is in place. Nitro was very pleased that his view was back.

Finally, the three-year project is complete! 

In review, this is what we started with three years ago. Btw, we also put a new roof on the cabin the first year.

 And because we think we are pretty cool that we did this project I will post before and after pictures of the siding project. This is the front of the cabin the day we went to look at it. That the real-estate agent with Bob on the front porch. It came complete with post-storm branches in the front yard.

And this, ladies and gentlemen was a year later. Bob removed the second porch and replaced it with a window making the inner space much more useable.

 Then came the old sway-backed barn.

I wanted the cupola on the top so Bob built one from old louvered closet doors we had around here. Yes, I know, it's still swaybacked and yes, it's gonna stay that way.

Year Two saw the side and back of the cabin complete.

Here's the final product. We removed the middle window to make the inner space more usable.

We keep saying we are almost done, but we keep coming up with more stuff to do. Wish us luck!
