Chapter 71: Our Big Fat Non-Greek Weekend

A couple of days ago we went out to Loch Casebolt, more formally known as Lake Nahwatzel to check out their cabin. They've had it for a couple of years and it was long past time for us to visit.

We were joined by Grama and Grampa, then we busied ourselves with soaking up whatever mysteries Loch Casebolt creates total relaxation to one's soul.

We spent the day doing various lake activities. We all went for a boat ride, Bob went fishing, we had a great lunch out in the fresh air overlooking the lake, and lounged around in whatever personal style the lounger chose to exhibit.

Later in the afternoon, we watched the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding. The main character, Toula Portokalose, felt she lived in a strange family that no one else could ever understand. That's when I realized that Toula had nothing on our family.

To demonstrate my theory, let me introduce you to some of the family:

There's Bob, a strange old fisherman...

...and crazy Uncle Scott who plays the bagpipes in his shorts on the shores of Loch Nahwatzel...

...and no one wants to cross Aunt JoAnn's path when she's on a roll. Legal disclaimer: JoAnn made me promise not to show her in her robe, so it's been blurred to protect the photographer.

Now, on their own these characters are strange enough, but put 'em together in any combination and Toula Portokalose has nothing on this family! Where else will you see someone putting their fishing flippers on while a guy plays the bagpipes in the woods?
