Chapter 67: Spicy

Grama and Grampa called us on a sunny day last week to see if we wanted to take their new (to them) 

1958 Century Resorter wooden boat for a trip to Lake Washington. This is a picture of Bob (and his fast-moving) dad's feet while the SPICY was on the trailer.
We progressed rapidly to launching the boat with everyone trying to keep the boat and themselves safe from injury and scratches.



As soon as we Grampa started speeding up, the old Stars 'n Stripes filled out and looked beautiful with the frothy water in the background.

My view from the back of the boat. With the engine in the middle of the boat, I almost felt like a second-class citizen sitting all the way in the back.

A nice view of my foot hanging off the side of the boat. Unfortunately, Mt. Rainier looming in the background kinda spoiled it.

Here is a great example of the excesses of the Lake Washington lifestyle. Not only is there enough house for 6 families, but if you look closely you can see both a speed boat and an airplane.

This is an artsy-fartsy photo of the boat, lapping water, and Mt. Rainier in the distance between the two.

I will close with Grampa in all his glory with his new boat. He looks like bringing in a long-lost herd of something.
